Anybody heard of this site? Go now, check it out.
What do you think?
I’ll reserve my thoughts, but wish to share something: @myscribbler has posted several comments to our blog, and also reached out via Twitter, to several of you that have publicly expressed excitement for SeenTh.at. Because we want our blog to be a place where we can communicate directly with you about our project, we have not allowed these comments to show up in the discussions where they were posted. However, because we’re all about improving the options available to the movie-loving community, I decided to create this post as an opportunity for anyone (including the folks over at Scribbler) to share their thoughts. We definitely don’t think we have all of the answers, and realize there may already be great options ahead of SeenTh.at.
Best,
JP

Scribbler looks like a ning.com page or a wordpress theme. I hope seenth.at is better then that!
We believe our social interface will be different from the previous movie related sites, and therefore, we really hope you dig it.
I think that what you are working on is very different (and better) than this. If they are contacting people who talk about seenth.at over twitter in order to get customers, shouldn’t this be considered as spam?
Mmmm, SPAM. You know how long it’s been since I’ve had a SPAM sandwich? You’ve inspired me to go to the grocery!
BTW, I’m just wondering what movies you all are planning on watching this weekend???
I think I’ll finish Friday Night Lights.
Maybe it’s just me?–Scribbler seems like a fine site for keeping lists, but it doesn’t look like the kind of social database I’m looking for to keep track of the movies I’ve watched.
It’s like your first post–There seem to be a lot of sites that have little pieces of what I’m looking for, but no one (yet!) who has the whole package.
–I don’t want to *just* look up info, or *just* list things, or *just* add ratings…I want to be able to do those things, plus be able to add my own comments and reviews–all the things I’m looking forward to about Seen That!!!
Someone’s been promoting that site on a message board that I read, too. I checked it out because I’ve been looking for a decent movie tracking site forever, but it didn’t really match up with what I was looking for, which is more of a Goodreads-style site for movies.
will be this website translated to other languages?, keep up the good work, it looks awesome
Because we have so many users signed up outside of the United States at this point, my guess is this will be a must down the road. Too early to tell for sure though.
Yeah, scribbler contacted me through twitter. They clearly read my comment on one of your posts as well, cause I mentioned that I would like seenthat to be a bit like a goodreads but for films, and next thing you know, they contacted me on twitter saying if I wanted a goodreads for films to try scribbler. By the way, scribbler is nothing like a goodreads for films. It’s good for making lists, but definitely not a goodreads for films. I think they’re trying to steal some of your customers even before you’ve got started! I’m sticking here though.
Thanks for sticking with us! We hope to provide all you wish for in a social sharing movie website.
They’re definitely targeting people who respond here on your blog, they sent me a message through the contact form on my website shortly after I left my first comment on this post. That was a little weird.
No doubt, keeping track of what movies you’ve seen and what you haven’t can be served by a general purpose to-do type app or service.
But who wants to keep track of their movie list in the same place as their grocery shopping? (please note: that’s what I currently do, and that’s why I’m so excited for seenth.at to launch!!)
Not to mention the fact that as a dedicated service, you can offer features which are specific to your domain, that more general-purpose apps cannot (like movie listings, search films by director, new movie notifications, suggestions, etc.)
We feel the same Richard. We want a niche social site for all things movies and leave out all other aspects of our social life to other sites.
